Forever Niuniu

FEBRUARY 2020 — MAY 2026

Six years and three months by my side. Forever in my heart.

01 · THE BEGINNING

The Day You Came Into My Life

Her original name was Bonyu, but I always called her Niuniu.

In February 2020, a little Border Collie puppy, just two months old, came into my life. I couldn't have known then how much she would come to mean to me, or how deeply the smallest moments of our life together would stay with me.

From that day on, there was a little companion beside me. As she grew, so did the place she held in my heart. We shared six years and three months of ordinary days that became extraordinary simply because she was there.

When I look at her puppy photographs now, I see the beginning of a story I wish could have lasted so much longer.

She was small then, with bright eyes and a whole life ahead of her. I didn't know how much love could fit into the years we would share.

02 · MY LITTLE SHADOW

Wherever I Went, She Followed

Niuniu was clever, lively, playful, and sometimes mischievous. She was also gentle, affectionate, and so very attached to me.

Wherever I went, she followed. Even when I went to the bathroom, she would wait outside the door until I came back.

At the time, that was simply our routine. Now, it is one of the things I miss most: the quiet certainty that she would be nearby, asking for nothing more than to be close.

She didn't have to do anything extraordinary to make a day feel complete.

Sometimes love was just a little dog waiting patiently on the other side of a door.

03 · THE LITTLE MOMENTS

The Things I'll Always Remember

I remember the way Niuniu took food from my hand. She never rushed to snatch it. She would slowly bring her mouth closer and take it with such care, as though she didn't want to hurt me.

That gentleness was part of who she was, even when she was full of energy and mischief.

I remember her expressive ears, her bright eyes, the way she tilted her head, and the sight of her resting on the floor with her paws crossed or her belly in the air.

These weren't grand occasions. They were the little pieces of everyday life that I never want to forget.

There was the playful Niuniu, the curious Niuniu, the gentle Niuniu, and the little puppy who grew into a beautiful dog.

Every photograph holds another part of her, and another moment of the life we shared.

04 · THE GOODBYE

Six Years Were Never Enough

In May 2026, Niuniu passed away because of gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV), also known as gastric torsion.

It happened far too soon. I wasn't ready to say goodbye.

I wanted more mornings together. More playful moments. More chances to see her happy face, to stroke her head, and to find her waiting for me as she always did.

We had six years and three months together. I am grateful for every one of those days, but I wish there could have been so many more.

05 · THE LOVE THAT STAYS

A Little Part of PINVELLA

Since Niuniu left, I've come to understand how precious ordinary companionship can be: footsteps following you from room to room, a familiar face looking up at you, the comfort of knowing someone you love is close.

PINVELLA is a brand I am building with the hope of helping people care thoughtfully for the animals who share their lives.

Niuniu isn't here to be part of this journey, but I want her to have a place within it. Not as a sales story, and not because she was perfect, but because she was my dog, my companion, and my family.

This page is simply a place to remember her — and to remember that the little moments with our pets matter.

07 · A LETTER TO NIUNIU

Until We Meet Again

My dear Niuniu,

Thank you for coming into my life in February 2020. Thank you for the six years and three months we shared.

Thank you for following me everywhere, for waiting outside the door, for being playful and mischievous, and for always taking food so gently from my hand.

Thank you for every ordinary day that became special because you were there.

I wish I could see you again, hold you close, and tell you one more time how much you mean to me. I wish we had more time.

Wherever you are now, I hope you are free from pain, happy, and able to run and play as much as you like.

I will always miss you. And I will always be grateful that, for a little while, we found each other.

You spent six years and three months by my side.
I'll carry you in my heart for the rest of mine.

Forever loved. Forever missed.
Forever Niuniu.
